“Every love story is beautiful but ours is my favorite” ~Author Unknown
Since this awesome couple just welcomed their first child into the world, I figured it was about time for me to share their beautiful wedding! I have already blogged their engagement photos I took awhile back.. but just a refresher, Kim is a college sorority sister and the sister of one of my best friends. I knew when she booked me that their wedding would be one for the books!
The wedding ceremony and reception took place at The Farm in Asheville, NC. It was an amazing venue with fall foliage and mountain views. Kim and her bridesmaids got ready at a home off site while Chad and his groomsmen got ready in a cottage at the venue location. The lighting was beautiful in the home that Kim got ready in and I loved capturing all of the authentic moments that happened during the getting ready stage.
I am always up for whatever the bride and groom want to to do in terms of when they want to see each other for the first time- either during the ceremony or during a private first look before the ceremony. For Kim and Chad, I loved the fact they chose to do a first look. It was a beautiful moment between the two of them and something that was incredibly special to capture. Emotions were running high and the first look provided the moment they needed before the ceremony.
Kim and Chad also were very specific in planning on where they wanted the ceremony to take place. Most of the time the venue doesn’t use the spot they selected, but Kim and Chad wanted the mountains in the background. When Kim told me in the planning stages about the spot they selected, I was excited. I knew they would be backlit and there would be opportunities where I could play up the dramatic lighting. The ceremony spot was a win-win for us both!
There truly were so magical moments that took place on their wedding day that I could go on and on about, but I conclude with my last thought. Kim and Chad share an incredible connection and I loved being the one capturing that on their special day.
I LOVE this moment with Kim & her mother!
I actually took this photo through my windshield- we were running a few behind schedule- I needed to get over to see the men, so I was getting ready to back out of the driveway when I saw Kim & her bridesmaids helping her out. I think her face tells it all- lots of emotions at this point of the day!
Thanks to my 2nd photographer for capturing this sweet moment with Kim and her dad. So PERFECT.
